The Brazilian misfit could be available on the cheap, having fallen out of favour with the club following an outrageous spending spree. City boss Roberto Mancini is looking to offload players ahead of the new squad rules coming into place next season.

Allardyce is said to be keen on the player as he fits the bill for the system he is currently implementing at Rovers.

Jo arrived at Eastlands for a record fee of £11m two years ago from CSKA Moscow, but is unlikely to figure in the club’s plans next season, meaning he could leave for next to nothing.

The 23-year-old has been on loan to Everton for the past season-and-a-half, scoring five goals in his 27 league appearances, but went AWOL for the club and as a result, City loaned him out to Galatasaray.

His earlier goal tallies however have been impressive. He scored 23 goals in 54 appearances for Corinthians, before moving to CSKA Moscow where he bagged 30 goals in 53 appearances.

I like Jo, so hopefully wee can get a deal for him wrapped up :)

I do like this player. Would be great to get a deal done for him. I reckon its just paper talk though

  3. Satchel says:

Been nothing but paper talk of late. Wish we could report something conclusive. Very frustrating.

But yeah, this looks like a good shout. he has real potential – judging by his previous scroing record – and is still young. Just looks like he needs a good man manager.

We need someone who can SCORE goals Satchel
Not someone who has a good “scroing”! record!
    Seriously though

Could be OK but I’m not convinced, not enough goals at Everton and goes AWOL to Brazil, would have to do better at Ewood. Not sure Sam is that kind of manager

Personally I would take a gamble on Nikica Jelavic

Sadly I think Jelavic is out of our price range, Vienna have just put a £3m price tag on him, and Rangers are looking to be moving in for him. Not sure we can compete in the market on our pathetic budget. Hope this takeover business concludes soon rather than later.

Oh and that was an unfortunate typo!

Seriously though Jo would be a gem of a signing, on our frustratingly tight budget. He has been a bit wayward of late but there is no doubting his ability. Look what we`ve done to strikers with quality over the last 5 seasons or so.. Turned them inside out thats what and sold them on for decent money. With our quality wing play Jo would bang in the goals for sure
